Troubleshooting the Door Not Closing

The dishwasher door not closing properly can be caused by obstructions in the door, a damaged gasket, or a faulty door latch.

Preliminary Troubleshooting

Does the door move, or is it stuck in one position?

Before placing the racks back in, ensure that the rails are not being obstructed by anything. Place the racks back in and attempt to close the washer again. If the door still does not close, the racks may not be sliding all the way in.
