A sagging or low tub in an LG front-load washer is typically caused by broken or detached suspension springs, worn shock absorbers, or a damaged rear spider arm support. These issues can cause the tub to rub against the door seal or produce loud banging noises during spin cycles.

Detached suspension springs. 

Sometime while washing either an extremely light or heavy load, the heavy spring can become loose from the tub or the cabinet. It is a simple process to reattach the spring.

Reattaching the Suspension Spring 

Unplug the unit and take the top off. Ensure the tub is empty before starting, as this will make reattaching the spring easier. Attach the spring to the tub first. Then, lift the tub and spring together and hook the spring onto the cabinet. Reinstall the retainer if applicable. If the spring is too strong to stretch into position, thread a strong piece of rope through the top hook of the spring and use both hands to lift and guide the spring into its holder.

Worn Dampers

Over time the dampers, (shock absorbers) can wear and this may be the cause of the tilted or dislocated drum. Some LG Front Loaders have 3 dampers, and some may have 4 the procedure should be the same.

Unplug the unit and wear safety protection, the interior of the washer is very sharp.

The damper pins have a Locking tab on them, you will need to disable it to remove the pin, a 12mm wrench will be the right size to relax the tab.

You can apply some grease to the pins, but don’t grease the dampers.

Broken Spider

The Spider assembly is the metal bracket that attaches to the Tub/Drum and then to the motor is it is cracked or bent it can cause the drum to sag and will need replaced.
