Some examples of normal and improper use and the results on the vent grill.
Test Condition
Improper laundering of the garment.
This is the most common cause of the damage to clothes and the grill. Instruct the customer to give attention to proper care instructions from the manufacturer.
The lint filter or the home vent is restricted.
If the lint filter is restricted or has a bad installation, it can cause the scorching issue by causing the temperature at the rear duct grill to rise. Depending on the severity of the restriction the temperatures could rise approximately 20°~40° C (36°~72F°).
The Gas valve/orifice may not have been changed properly in a conversion to Propane.
The use of Propane without changing the Natural Gas orifice, to the Propane orifice, this may cause a rise in temperature up to 100°C (180°F).
