Top Load

The Top Load washing machine is equipped with four springs that support the tub and help reduce vibration and shock during operation. When the tub is filled with laundry and water, the springs compress under the weight, causing the tub to tilt slightly downward, which may make it appear sunken. Once the washing cycle is complete and the tub is emptied, the springs return to their original positions, and the tilt disappears.

If this is not the case, we will look at some other causes.

Suspension 

If the washer has been heavily used or has become unbalanced, one or more of the four suspension rods may be damaged and require replacement. First, disconnect the washer from the power source. Ensure the washer is empty to make it easier to move the tub.

Remove the top cover, exposing the tub. Lift the tub slightly at the designated corner and detach the suspension rod from the tub. Then, remove the suspension rod from the top brace.

Installing the New Suspension Rods

Note; It is recommended that all four (4) Suspension Rods be replaced at the same time. Apply a small amount of the existing grease found on the new rod to both ends of the new suspension rod. Insert the top of the rod into the corner bracket. Then, lift the tub slightly and guide the bottom end of the rod into the suspension holder molded into the bottom of the tub.
