If your door gasket has rubber particles in the tub it has been rubbing against something and it probably needs replacing. In this review, we’ll go over how to diagnose these problems and the steps involved in replacing the door gasket to restore proper washer performance.

If the door gasket needs to be replaced, we will show you these steps now.

You will need a pair of these pliers to expand the gasket spring PN 383EER4001A. Gloves for protection, pliers, and a # 2 Phillips screwdriver.

First you will need to remove the top of the unit by removing two screws in the back and sliding the top back and lifting it up.

Next slide the top backwards and up to remove it.

Take the two long screws out that attach the dispenser assembly.

Now remove the control panel. Take out the screws holding the panel, then loosen the hooks along the top.

Disconnect the Control panel and set it aside

Next using the special pilers, disconnect and remove the retaining spring for the gasket.

Remove the door gasket from the door assembly then remove the door assembly.

Remove the screws along the top of the door assembly except one and remove the drain cover.

Now take out this screw located behind the drain cover box, and the last screw holding the door assembly on and tilt it forward and lift it from the frame.

Disconnect the door switch and set the door assembly aside.

Now unclamp and remove the 3 hoses to the gasket. The large one on the bottom will have a notch that corresponds with a small tab on the Turbowash 360 spray nozzle.

Release the spring securing the gasket to the outer tub. (notice the arrow on the gasket and above it the arrow on the outer tub, this is to line the gasket up on reassembly.

Remove the Turbowash 360 nozzle and the other nozzles from the damaged gasket.

Next, remove the balance weights to make attaching the gasket easier.

Now begin folding the new gasket over the tub lip. Line the arrow on top of the gasket with the arrow on the tub. Make sure no part pops out—there should be no gaps between the gasket and the tub surface when you finish this step.

Once the gasket is secure, begin installing the spring wire clamp. Position the spring at the top, around the 12 o’clock position, then fit the wire into its groove starting from the bottom of the tub and gasket. When it is in its grove, you can use the pliers to spread the spring open and place the entire clamp in place.

Now you can reinstall the Turbowash 360 nozzle the balance weights, and the rest of the unit.
