Craft Icemaker Operation
Standard icemaker cycles every 60~80 mins.
Craft Ice™ icemaker cycles every 18~30 hours.
Craft ice is made in the 2-separated trays to make round shaped ice.
Craft Ice ring is normal and caused by expansion.
It is normal for the ice tray to be tilted at a 15° angle for 2 minutes after filling with water, before the mold closes all the way.
The Craft Icemaker needs time for water to spread and ice chips to melt.
Heater Operation
1)Lower Heater:
The purpose of the lower craft icemaker heater is to give the ice balls clarity. The lower heater is on for the entire freezing process. The heater on the bottom keeps the ice in the lower mold from freezing during the early stages of ice making and will freeze much later. The ice in the upper mold freezes first. This pushes the air pockets down into the lower mold and prevents small air pockets from forming and produces clearer ice balls.
2) Upper Heater:
The upper heater is turned on during the ice ball ejection process of the Harvest. The purpose of the upper heater is to loosen the ice balls in the upper mold so the two molds can be separated and ejected.
3ICE / 6ICE
If the complaint is no ice, is the unit newly installed?
If so, the unit will need to reach set temperature, and go through at least 2 cycles of harvest time to get the air out of the water lines. The Craft IceTM icemaker may need up to 48 hours to begin producing ice. Remember even after initial harvest the Craft Ice will take approximately 18-30 hours to produce 3 pieces of ice.
The unit is set to 3 pieces of ice by default, However if the customer wishes to accelerate the Craft ice production this can be done on the display as follows.
Note: there are two methods to change between 3ICE and 6ICE…
Method 1:
The Freezer Button can be used to set the Craft Ice mode to either 3 ICE or 6 ICE.
If you need more Ice, select the 6 ICE mode.
If you need clearer ice, select the 3 ICE mode.
To change the craft Ice mode :
1) Press and hold the Freezer button for 3 seconds until the control panel beeps and the current mode appears.
※ 3 ICE mode
1 Batch (3 pieces of Ice) per Every 18~30h
※ 6 ICE mode
2 Batches (6 pieces of Ice) per Every 18~30h
2) Press the Freezer button repeatedly to toggle between 3 ICE and 6 ICE modes.
Method 2:
Press the Craft Ice Button repeatedly to select between the 3 ICE, 6 ICE and OFF modes. After 5 seconds of idle time, the last mode will be saved, and the display will return to normal.
- To turn off the Craft Ice icemaker, select the
OFF mode.
- To turn on the Craft Ice icemaker, select the
3 ICE or 6 ICE mode.
Ice Bin Capacity
The ice bin stores 20-30 spheres of ice. To prevent the Craft Ice from overflowing in the ice bin, there will only be one layer of ice allowed.
