Standard Icemaker Error Codes
In Door ICE MAKER KIT ERROR
Cause
Ice maker in door is defective or has no voltage to the ice maker
Solution
Check wiring and connections to ice maker. Check voltage to the ice maker.
Cause
Ice maker may be jammed with ice chips.
Solution
Thaw the ice maker and test again.
Cause
Heated mold style may have a defective heater.
Solution
Check resistance of heater and voltage to heater.
In door Ice Maker, from Display board in left door
Example from LMXS30776: Check for 12Vdc at Motor pins on Connector 102, BROWN and GRAY/RED after test button is pressed. If voltage is there check for 12Vdc at the Icemaker, (its possible there’s a wiring issue inside the door).
If no voltage to the Ice maker motor from PCB when test button is pressed, check the test button for voltage WHITE/RED to BROWN, 5Vdc circuit voltage should go away when test button is pressed, if no 5Vdc replace Display PCB, if voltage is there and doesn’t go away check Ice maker wiring in door to confirm, if good replace Icemaker.
Ice Sensor Error
Cause
If “IS” is displayed The Main PCB is not getting a signal from an icemaker sensor.
Solution
For Single icemaker units with a freezer icemaker only it will be the icemaker sensor in the freezer section.
For Dual icemaker units this error will be for one of the sensors in the left door. Check the ice room sensor and the icemaker sensor.
Remember an ERROR CODE will only appear if the board the sensor connects to detects 0 or 5 VDC.

FREEZER ICE MAKER ERROR CODE
Cause
Ice maker in freezer is defective or has no voltage to the ice maker
Solution
Check wiring and connections to freezer ice maker.
Check voltage to the ice maker.
Cause
Ice maker may be jammed with ice chips.
Solution
Thaw the ice maker and test again.
Cause
Heated mold style may have a defective heater.
Solution
Check resistance of heater and voltage to heater.
FREEZER ICE MAKER CHECKS
Check for 12Vdc to Freezer ice maker tray motor.
Also check for 18Ω on the ice maker motor.
IN-FREEZER ICE MAKER ICING SENSOR
Cause
The Main PCB is not getting a signal from the Freezer Icing Sensor.
Solution
Check the wiring at the sensor, and Main PCB.
Remember an ERROR CODE will only appear if – 0 or 5Vdc is detected at the Main PCB.
