Dryer Door Switch

Step 1

A dE error code indicates the door isn’t closed.

properly. You may try to open and reclose the door, after first examining for any object that may be preventing the closure of the door.

Step 2

Check the door strike for possible damage.

Replace if necessary.

Step 3

Instpect the dryer door rubber gasket for possible damage preventing the door from fully closing.

Step 4

Be sure to check that the lint filter is fully installed and not preventing the door from closing all the way.

If the door still will not close it may be misaligned. Examine the dryer for damage that may cause misalignment or possible worn out hinges.

Step 5

Check from yellow wire on white 4 pin connector to neutral wire with door closed and if the reading has no continuity, then door switch is defective.  Replace the door switch if it has no continuity while door is closed.
