Frost Buildup

If frost is building up on the left side of the freezer evaporator check for air leaks around the ice room gaskets

If frost is forming at the middle of the evaporator coil check the flap position on the drain tube.

If frost is forming around the freezer door and rail area check for gasket and cabinet issues. Also verify food packages are not causing doors to not close and seal properly.

Step 1

Check the Beta gaskets and Ice Room gaskets.

Step 2

Inspect the evaporator drain tube.

If frost is forming at the middle of the evaporator coil check the flap position on the drain tube. If stuck open it may allow hot air to migrate into the evaporator area.

Step 3

Look for gaskets not sealing.

Check the closing/sealing of the freezer door. A light can be used, place it inside the freezer and close it, now look for light escaping from around the door gasket. Or place a piece of paper between the door and cabinet, with the door closed see if there is resistance on the paper indicating a good seal.
