Overcharge

Symptoms of an over charged unit, (typically happens after a repair has already taken place.)

  • Compressor current – Will be higher than normal. (also, may display a 6-blink compressor code.)
  • Low side pressures – Will be higher than normal.
  • High side pressures – Will be higher than normal.
  • Frost pattern – Will be beyond the evaporator and may frost all the way back to suction line. And compressor.
  • Compressor Noise – Will typically be louder than normal as liquid refrigerant is causing the compressor to strain.
